Lol, I stand corrected.I thought retrofit sport chrono was called. Sold: Atlas Grau on Ocean Blue Gen 2 997 C2 Carrera Location: Somewhere Nr Tunbridge Wells, Kent Is that a retrofitted button then? It looks factory to me and i've seen quite a few cars with it (the car also has the chrono dial on the dash) ![]() I presume they are referring to “sport Chrono” I was luky and found top spec 997.2 fairly quicky, one thing i would like to add to the above post is that with the sport chrono pack you also get launch control, i have not tried it yet but im told its a lot of fun.ĩ97.2 C2S convertible, BMW 430i Grand coupe, Classic Mini 1380cc, Clasic Mini Clubman 2.0 Red top powered race car, VW T6 support van.Īnyone advertising with “sport plus” does not really know their Porsches. I agree with all of the above, finding the right spec can be tough. Thank you gents, yes i've looked into the Gundo hack for my current car but as it's a daily driver for my commute I'd rather the switchable option, at least I know what i'm looking out for, so thanks again.Īnyone advertising with “sport plus” does not really know their Porsches. Mods – Front 996-GT2 and Rear 997-Turbo Brake Ducts The 30-page PDF at this link is a press release from Porsche going through all the changes introduced with the Gen 2 model when it was released. I went for the other method that takes a pipe into the second inlet that is blanked off on the standard exhausts - makes it the same as on sports exhaust but not switchable but not too loud either. There is the exhaust bypass method 'gundo hack'. You can also adapt the standard exhaust in a couple of ways. Sports exhausts can be fitted after the effect if you see a really good car without it. Sports exhaust is separate - if fitted there will be a button that has an exhaust icon on it that switches it on and off via a valve. The 'sport plus' button takes it all up another notch and I think it is for very spirited driving or the track. There is a button marked 'sport' - this changes the throttle response and gears change later at about 3K revs. On Gen2 997 PDK cars there are three settings - normal - no buttons pressed where the gears change up very quickly to the highest one for daily driving.
